Senator Vogel Takes Oath of Office on Tuesday

Will open two District Offices on Wednesday

State Senator-elect Elder Vogel Jr. (R-47) will formally be sworn into office during a ceremony set for noon, Tuesday, January 6, in the Senate Chamber of the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg.

"We have had a couple of hectic weeks getting everything ready, but I am looking forward to the swearing in ceremony and the opportunity to serve the people of the 47th District," Senator Vogel said.

In preparation for the new Legislative session, Senator Vogel has been appointed to the following committees by President Pro Tempore, Senator Joe Scarnati: Local Government, Vice Chairman; Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Environmental Resources & Energy, Public Health & Welfare, and Urban Affairs & Housing.  "I look forward with anticipation to working with my fellow colleagues on each committee as we begin the legislative process,” commented Senator Vogel."

As part of his commitment to make access to state services as convenient as possible for his constituents, Senator Vogel is opening a Beaver County District Office and a Lawrence County District Office on Wednesday, January 7. Both offices will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Beaver County Office is located at 488 Adams Street in Rochester, the telephone number is (724) 774-0444. The Lawrence County Office is located at 301 Central Building, 101 South Mercer Street in New Castle, and the telephone number is (724) 654-1444.

By contacting either office constituents can receive state forms for PACE and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, state transportation and fishing maps, assistance with PennDOT, welfare, and many other state-related matters.

"I know people lead busy lives and it is important that we make it as easy as possible for them to reach my offices," Senator Vogel said. "These district offices are here for one purpose – to help people receive the state services they deserve. That means helping people on a case-by-case basis. I hope people can find time to stop in, see what is available and chat a bit. "
