Two Beaver County municipalities will receive state grants to improve recreational facilities, according to Senator Elder Vogel (R-47).

Chippewa Township and New Brighton were selected to receive Community Conservation Partnerships Program (CCPP) grants from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, according to Senator Vogel.

Chippewa Township will receive $125,900 for work at McKinley Park including the construction of a ballfield, access road, parking, fencing, ADA access, landscaping and other site improvements.

The New Brighton Area Recreation Commission will receive $105,500 for the rehabilitation of New Brighton Memorial field including the reconstruction of the ballfield and installation of an irrigation system, fencing and warning track.

The CCPP provides financial and technical assistance to local governments, land trusts, river and trail organizations and other non-profit organizations for the planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenway areas.
