Senator Elder Vogel Jr. represents the citizens of the 47th Senatorial District, which includes portions of Allegheny, Beaver and Lawrence counties.  Upon being sworn into office on January 6, 2009, he was appointed to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Local Government Committee and as a member of the Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Environmental Resources & Energy, Public Health & Welfare, and Urban Affairs & Housing Committees. 

A citizen-legislator, Senator Vogel is a fourth-generation dairy farmer, operating the family farm in New Sewickley Township which was established in the late 1800s.  For many years, Senator Vogel served as president of the Beaver-Lawrence Farm Bureau, and until his election served as a New Sewickley Township Supervisor.

Senator Vogel is committed to effectively representing the 47th Senatorial District with character and integrity, being open and accessible to his constituents, and seeking innovative solutions to regional challenges.  

As part of his commitment to make state services accessible and convenient for his constituents, Senator Vogel maintains a Beaver County District Office and a Lawrence County District Office.  Both offices will be open weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  Constituents are encouraged to call or stop by and say hello.
