Senator Vogel Announces Local Municipalities to Be Awarded State Grants

Three separate projects in the boroughs of Ambridge, Baden, and Rochester will receive state grant funding from multiple programs, according to Senator Elder Vogel Jr.

In the borough of Baden, the West View Water Authority will receive $111,377 from the Commonwealth’s Multimodal Transportation Fund to construct an access road to Baden’s new water treatment plant off of Tevebaugh Hollow Road.

The boroughs of Ambridge and Rochester will receive $100,000 and $199,508, respectively, from the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program. The funds for Ambridge are for improvements at the 8th Street and Walter Panek parks, including greater ADA accessibility, a wheelchair swing, new playground equipment, and reconstruction of basketball courts. The funds for Rochester will serve to rehabilitate two adjacent memorial parks, which feature the Rochester Area War Memorial and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.

“I am thankful for the Commonwealth’s continued investment in our region,” Senator Vogel said. “These projects will help to improve our infrastructure needs and provide residents with beautiful updated parks that they can enjoy with their families.”
