SENATE AG COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER AGRICULTURE SECRETARY NOMINATION

The Senate  Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee will consider the nomination of Russell Redding as Secretary of Agriculture at its meeting set for noon, Tuesday, May 12, in Room 8E-A of the East Wing of the state Capitol Complex in Harrisburg, according to Committee Chairman Senator Elder Vogel.

The committee is also scheduled to consider the following:

Senate Bill 78 bans the issuance of kennel licenses to individuals and their immediate family members, if they have had a kennel license revoked within the last 10 years.

Senate Bill 437 exempts certain charitable non-profit food facilities from onerous and intrusive state regulatory and licensing requirements.

Senate Resolution 95 encourages the use of science-based data to assess the impacts and the regulation of agricultural technologies.

House Bill 188  amends the Agricultural Area Security Law to provide for wind power generation systems on preserved farmland.
